Kamas

Event production in Kamas.

The Kamas Valley keeps adding barn venues, working ranches, and private properties that were never set up for events. It is on the same routes we already run for Park City, so we cover it as part of our normal service area rather than as a destination.

Local production

What we do in Kamas

  • Ranch and barn production with battery backed and generator friendly systems
  • Corporate retreats at ranch properties and private estates
  • Lighting that works with timber, canvas, and stone instead of fighting it
  • Gear delivered over Highway 248 all summer long

Venues we know out here: High Star Ranch, Blue Sky Ranch nearby, and private ranches across the Kamas Valley.

Ranch country

Why we keep going back over the pass

Kamas is still ranch country and that is most of the appeal. Working barns, lawns with the Uintas sitting behind them, and properties where the nearest neighbor is far enough away that nobody is calling about the volume at 10pm.

From our side it is close to a blank page, which we like. There is no house system to work around and no lighting somebody installed twenty years ago, so whatever ends up in that field is what we planned and brought.

It is also on the same routes as our Park City dates, so Kamas gets the same crew and the same rates. We do not add a destination charge for being a few minutes further down the road.

No infrastructure

Great property, nothing to plug into

Ranch venues out here have the view, the barn, and the lawn. What they usually do not have is power where you need it, level ground for a stage, or any easy way to get signal from the barn out to a tent a couple hundred feet away.

Power gets planned before we quote

Battery powered audio and lighting will cover dinners, speeches, and most programs without running anything to a wall. If there is a full dance floor on the schedule we spec a quiet generator instead, and we ramp any cable that crosses somewhere people are walking.

The valley makes its own weather

At around sixty five hundred feet the temperature can drop thirty degrees after the sun goes down, and afternoon wind through the valley will find any tent, banner, or speaker stand that is not weighted. We ballast everything as a matter of course and will tell you when part of a plan needs a backup.

Dust is harder on gear than people think

Ranch roads coat everything in a fine grit that gets into faders and connectors and does not come out on its own. Our cases stay closed until we are ready to build and everything gets cleaned when it comes back, which is a big part of why our gear still works the way it should.

Kamas is inside our standard service area, and power planning is included in the quote rather than added later.

Questions we get often

Do you serve Kamas and the Kamas Valley?

Yes, with no travel fee. Kamas is on the same routes as our Park City work, and power planning for ranch venues is part of the quote.

Can you produce an event at High Star Ranch?

Yes. Mention the venue when you reach out and we will quote it against the load-in that property has.

What if there is no power where the program is happening?

That is common out here. Battery systems handle speeches, dinners, and ceremonies without any issue, and we only plan generator power where the load really calls for it.

Can you light a barn without it looking like a gymnasium?

Yes, and that is most of the work. Warm uplighting on the timber, controlled beams on the floor, and nothing aimed where it will flatten the room out.

Do you do weekday corporate retreats out here?

Fairly often. Ranch retreats are steady summer work for us, usually sound for sessions during the day and something larger for the evening.
