Salt Lake City
Event production in Salt Lake City.
Convention keynotes at the Salt Palace, galas in the downtown ballrooms, and warehouse parties in the Granary. Salt Lake is our busiest market and it is about 25 minutes from our warehouse, so most weeks we have a crew somewhere downtown.

Why we like working downtown
Most of our work happens downtown, and it covers a pretty wide range. One week we are doing a general session with breakouts where the keynote has to be dialed in by 8am. The next week we are in a raw warehouse space in the Granary that has a roll up door and not much else, so we end up bringing the power along with everything else.
Salt Lake clients usually know what they want and they ask good questions, which makes our job easier. If a planner tells us up front that their CEO will not use a handheld mic, or that the CFO always runs long, we can plan around it. That is more useful to us than a list of gear specs.
The other thing is that downtown is only about 25 minutes from our warehouse. If something breaks at 4pm on show day we can go get a replacement and still be back before doors.
Downtown logistics
What downtown asks of you
Downtown is a straightforward market to work in, but when something does go sideways it is usually the building causing it rather than anything to do with the show itself. These are the three that come up most.
Loading dock windows
Convention space and hotel ballrooms share their docks with catering, decor, and whoever is loading out from the event before yours, so dock time gets scheduled in advance. If you miss your window you can end up sitting on the street with a full truck waiting for an opening. We book the window ahead of time, confirm it with the venue, and schedule our build around whatever they give us.
Power in older ballrooms
A lot of these rooms have outlets everywhere, but plenty of them run back to the same circuit. If you put a line array, moving lights, and a video wall on it, you will trip a breaker at some point, and it usually happens once the room fills up. We ask what is available before we quote so we can spec around it or bring distro.
Venue paperwork
Certificates of insurance, W-9s, and vendor forms all get requested by downtown venues, usually earlier than people expect. We send ours the same day they ask. It is boring, but chasing paperwork on load-in day is a bad way to start an event.
The prices published on this site are the same prices we charge downtown. There is no travel line and no downtown surcharge.
Salt Lake is where most of our corporate AV and staging work happens, and it is a 25 minute drive from the shop, so it is also the easiest market for same week gear rentals. Plenty of these clients also have us up in Park City later in the year.
Questions we get often
Do you charge travel fees in Salt Lake City?
No. We work all over the Wasatch Front and the drive is already included in the price we quote you.
Can you produce a corporate event downtown?
Yes, and it is our core work. AV, staging, lighting, and show calling for conferences and galas at the Salt Palace, the Grand America, and hotel ballrooms all over downtown.
Where do I pick up rental gear near Salt Lake City?
Our shop is in Farmington, which is about 25 minutes north of downtown. Pickup is 8am to 1pm on your event day, and we power everything on and show you how it works before you leave.
Do you work alongside a hotel's in-house AV?
Yes, that happens a lot. Some clients have the house handle the basic package and bring us in for the parts that need to be right. We work out the details with the venue directly so you are not stuck passing messages between us.
How far ahead should we lock a downtown date?
For a single room a couple of weeks is usually enough. If you need multiple rooms during convention season, ask as early as you can. Either way we will tell you what we have available for your date.
